Seeing Is 04:13
Soft spoken shy and sweet, seemingly Helplessly aimless Awkward in speech, you seem to be Helplessly acting Say C'est la vie one more time for me And I won't believe anything Love you love me, speechfully Mumbling distractions Seeing is believing, confusing everything Say C'est la vie one more time for me And I won't believe anything Seeing is believing

You can't buy your way out of the next revolution And everything you buy enslaves you Though you bought your way out of the last revolution Now all that you do kills you I'll paint you in a fitting fitting shade With a tie-dye round your neck And watch the colors slowly fade Out of your head What will you do when all that you knew is through And imploding in your face The first will be last and the last will be first you'll learn That all you are now will burn You can't buy your way out of the next revolution And nearly everyone you pay is against you Though you though there would be no more revolutions You never saw what this world would come to Though you want it you can't have anything You let the market give everything And all your want did was consume everything Now all you bought is rotting In unmarked graves

You're a white moon Vienna I thought I'd tell you the truth You're an old lie Vienna I thought I'd tell you, but you already know the truth With all your flags fading read and my old home now dead And how you fell in its stead But it's just the thought of you, just the truth of it You're a white lie Vienna I thought I'd tell you that at night I pray for you You're an old moon Vienna You're starry-eyed Vienna, but I love you Vienna I do With all your flags fading read and my old home now dead And how you fell in its stead But it's just the thought of you, just the truth of it

To Hold Me 04:01
Another night of thinking about noone at all With empty arms I'll write another song Singing about all the things I want And making it worse to think of what I have not I don't mean to sound naïve or searching for sympathy But there must be somebody to hold me Another day of searching with blind eyes With empty maps I'll feel to find A way to pacify The pain I've been trying so hard to hide I don't mean to bitch, but I've had enough of this And there must be someone to kiss I don't mean to sound naïve or searching for sympathy But there must be somebody to hold me

Summer Hair 03:12
Warm wet summer air, driving through the corn fields where I learned to run my fingers through Your soft summer hair, blowing everywhere In my view and I could not see through To the road ahead with all its twists and turns and bends With no maps to guide me through To who I am now, love's cynical clown With a smile painted frown Lonely in the corner with red win and memories Painting the past in pretty pretty colors Knowing nothing will last, no never ever ever Will I be so naïve To love anybody The first love has the worst of all falls all falls And the first fall built up my callused heart my callused love

Paperbag 03:33
As soft as a candle I blow and sway All of the shadow and stretch the lines of your face Woman with the two cigarettes in your mouth "One for me one for you" you spout And somewhere in the smoke and small words I see everything and worse Wrap yourself in a paperbag and hand yourself to me And from then on, and from then on we'll see I am young and I am lost at sea And drowning in nothing Paint myself in the color red And pose and pose for the camera With visions in my head Of the things I'll never have Wrap yourself in a paperbag and hand your ashes down to me And from then on, and from then on we'll be Young and lost at sea But drowning in nothing

All I wanted to do was touch you From the moment I saw you I knew you wanted me to In the way you avoided my eyes and my nothings that made you smile I knew that it was true you wanted me to I don't know you at all, but yet I've gotten myself into this I guess it was more of a jump then a fall Now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that love with come after the kiss But knowing it will probably lead to this I will break you down I will break you down I will break you down I will break you All you wanted was for someone to love you At the moment I looked as if I would do From the way I made you smile you thought you could deny That I would break you You don't know me at all, but yet we've gotten ourselves into this To me it seemed like a jump not a fall Now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that love will follow the kiss But knowing it'll probably lead to this I will break you down I will break you down I will break you down I will break you

I was an older man when I was younger than you I almost forgot about all of the shit that you do To yourself and noone else In the dark where noone can tell To make you a better man Yet you don't understand You just believe what you're told Buy what you're sold Try to fit into the mold And break yourself on manmade mountains

It's a full moon tonight and I'm sure someone's howling at it somewhere I turned out the lights, but my windows seem shadeless My eyelids are filling with things I've heard, but not seen Now I'm filling my head with you with me in that scene I stared till I was blind Trying to find A reason why I can't find You there Are you there? Are you there? Are you? Cursing myself for being alone Forcing myself into molds I've been shown Started to believe that love had fairytale endings Now I'm starting to believe that love is mostly pretending I stared and now I'm blind Stopped trying to find A reason why I won't find You there Are you there? Are you there? Are you?

I'll dance for you if you want me to Do all the things I wouldn't do without you And I'll forget the names of all who went and came Before you All I'm trying to say in this broken tongue in my broken tongue is You came at the right time at the right time I was writing on pages unbound Now if I bind them to you I'm bound to read you some how Some how I guess all I'm trying to say in this broken tongue in my broken tongue is You came at the right time at the right time

Selling off myself I'm gonna move off to the suburbs To a cream colored house and a wife Find a steady job just like all who went before me A predictable and prepaid life Hi-ho hi-ho it's off to work we go Oh hi-ho hi-ho it's off to work we go I want a plastic dream machine To make sense of everything And rock me to sleep And pacify me Hi-ho hi-ho it's off to work we go Oh hi-ho hi-ho it's off to work we go Feed me who I am As seen on TV the average American Rain is falling The water's at my feet No need for running It's never gonna get to me Hi-ho hi-ho How high will this water go? Oh hi-ho hi-ho High I'm gonna kill myself out on an island in the suburbs A top a cream plastic dream machine The first story'll flood while the second will burn And that's my closing scene

The sound of shoes thrown through the air The ricochet and funerals there Are things that I will never share With You The taste of metal, smell of blood The feel of sweet and knowledge of The fact that all your life once was Is now what it is not A tattooed name on your left arm Of a woman you knew before the war Who gave you love and kid or more That you may never see again I do not know your name I do not feel your pain But I do feel ashamed to know that You may think your dying for me

VIE 03:12
On a bus riding to the other side of town Seems like years I've been stuck here in this town Hear the engines purring to take me away Thinking of reasons why I can't stay Down in the big VIE Vienna I must leave There's a plane that waits for me Down in the big VIE Cold but it's just a feeling I catch myself feeling when I'm alone Home but it's just a place I catch myself wishing for Sometime Down in the big VIE Vienna I must leave There's a plane that waits for me Down in the big VIE

about

Dear Vienna,
I am watching your streets tonight. Your dying leaves were my blanket as I followed your old sun sinking into the 19th. I said goodnight to you, but lay there awake and alone with wine stained teeth. So with your eyes closed and my feet light I searched for you or what I thought could be myself on bricks scarred by tourists and horse shoes then down a spider web of tar on asphalt echoing with faceless whispers and the prerecorded grind of trolley tracks. In looking for light I watched the Insel be trapped by a moat of empty plastic cups wading in water reflecting a one eyed man staring down from the attic of the Goethehof. My eyes were also down to cold feet on gravel grey streets reflecting the moon dressed in rain as I zigged round the faded bronze bricks of the 2nd and zagged round the deals made beneath the bridge over Flex. Slowly that one eyed bygone emperor went blind in the mill and a blue-eyed sun came from what I thought was the south to lay heavy on the Wagner-Iron-Green hoods hiding out behind the shacks of the Brunnenmarkt and on the perpetual crutches of the Mariahilfstrasse. A handful of people woke up in a cafe to read about that sunrise on an old wooden pole, but they could not see their reflections in the frothed milk and I, where was I? I can't recall now, but I think I was a little too drunk to see my own in that little glass of water on scratched tin while my cigarette ashes rolled like tumble weeds across marble tables for two and a bowtided bald man closed the windows though the winter still danced through the thick dark curtains on the door. All I know is that I was held and holding you as you slept, I was alone as it rained out side, and I tried to kiss you but you didn't wake up. Have you forgot how? Have I forgot how? I am looking you in the eyes. If you opened them could I keep looking? I am trying to kiss you. Wake up. Wake up.
